With so many events going on right now, we’ve collated our recommendations of free events and activities you can check out till the end of the month!

MUDANCE concept store

Singaporeans are having a severe “Jackson Wang fever” after the global superstar landed in town last week.

Besides traversing Pasir Ris Park with Singapore Tourism Board and hosting a party at Marquee, Jackson Wang is also in town to open his MUDANCE Concept Space.

For those unfamiliar with the GOT7 member, MUDANCE is a summer apparel collection by TEAM WANG Design, a luxury streetwear label founded by Jackson Wang.

The concept store is located on the second floor of Voco Orchard Singapore. The space is splashed with pink from floor to ceiling and features wavy decor and armchairs for those tropical vibes.

But the main reason why this concept store is here—the clothes.

The SPARKLES - MUDANCE Summer Collection features pink floral apparel fit for both guys and gals.

Note: sizes are running out quickly so do be quick!

Location: Voco Orchard Singapore, second floor

581 Orchard Rd, Voco Orchard Level 2, Singapore 238883

Date: now till 31 August 2022

Singapore Night Festival

After a two-year hiatus, the Singapore Night Festival is back bigger and better. This year, the event won’t only be illuminating the Bras Basah-Bugis district but Fort Canning as well!

Like previous iterations, you can expect to see spectacular light projections on monuments and Instagram-worthy light installations scattered throughout the streets.

With a whopping total of 55 experiences which includes 14 light installations, you better be ready to do some walking as you explore the Singapore Night Festival 2022.

But one of the festival’s highlights (which isn’t a light installation) is the theatrical experience Cathay Hotel: The Curse of the Missing Red Shoe.

Cathay Hotel: The Curse of the Missing Red Shoe

Explore a life-size replica of the Cathay Complex as you uncover a curse set on two lovers. Along the way, you might also meet familiar characters like Pontianak and Mat Bond.

It’s a paid show though but we think it’s not to be missed!

You can find out more about this experience here!

Date: 19 to 27 August 2022

Time: 7.30pm-12am

Venue: Bras Basah-Bugis District, Fort Canning

You can visit the festival’s official website for a more detailed map of all the installations.

Enjoy free performances at the Esplanade

Though 9 August has already passed, the National Day festivities aren’t stopping at the Esplanade.

From now till the end of the month, you can expect a slew of free performances and film screenings.

Some acts and films you can look forward to including:

  • 7 Letters (film)

As a homage to Singapore’s 50th Birthday, seven home-grown directors (Boo Junfeng, Eric Khoo, K Rajagopal, Jack Neo, Tan Pin Pin, Royston Tan, and Kelvin Tong) have strung together seven stories that tell the tale of us, Singaporeans.

As someone who has watched some of their films, this is definitely not to be missed as we celebrate National Day this month!

You can catch it at the Esplanade Concourse on 20 August from 8 pm.

  • An Evening With Jason Yu (performance)

Remember the busker who didn’t know how to sing Baby Shark? Yup, that’s Singapore’s busking prince Jason Yu.

He will be performing a medley of English and Chinese songs at the Esplanade Course on 24 August from 6:45 pm!
