Vibe check confirm pass one. Food? Could be better.

We Singaporeans love travelling but with ticket prices soaring, I think I still need to wait long long before I can book a trip to Korea.

What I don't need to wait for is getting my hands on some Korean Street Food. I found out I could get the vibes right here at Pocha!

Pocha! is a Korean Street Food themed restaurant with an ambience and menu designed based on the popular Korean street food tents known collectively as Pojangmachas.

What street food? Think Tteokbokki, skewers, bulgogi- mmm...

Sounds good right? The package looks attractive but so do those get-rich gurus you see on YouTube - so let us Honest People be the judge of that. (Don't worry none of us has gotten scammed - YET)

What We Ordered:

Swee, as with most Korean restaurants, we got free Kimchi! It tasted average but hey it's free!

The first dish to grace our table was the Kimari($6.90). The fried glass noodle wraps were crunchy but like - lok lok with little flavour. Tasted slightly better dipped with kimchi.

Then right, came Part 1 of our Set C($22.90) order - 6 Skewers & a Hangkkari Bokkeumbap with beef .

We had 3 Chicken and 3 Pork Zig Zag skewers(5.90 - 6.50 for 3 skewers ala carte) basking in sauce. The sauce tasted like a less sweet "Can I copy your homework meme" rendition of Tori Q. While Chicken was so-so the pork tasted great - chewy & flavourful, the capsicum even added a crunch sia.

Our next dish was the Tteokbokki($10.90). The rice cakes and fish cakes are both quite chewy. The sauce is okay only, eh but right if you put the Kimari in it, quite shiok.

The Hangkkari Bokkeumbap($9.90 Ala Carte) arrived last in a presentable flower. This one is like your friend who always dresses like Oppa regardless of the weather. Truth is right, outside Korean Oppa, but inside still ah boy - the fried rice is no different, it tasted salty like Nasi Goreng, yet was lighter and less greasy - think Yang Chou Fried Rice.

Location & Setting:

Given their space and position in the mall, I think the street food aesthetic slaps.

Its got the fairy light, neon signboards, and red street food tentage - just need Korean celebs then can film show already.

We could even see the chefs cook and feel the fire. (Even though we were 3 tables away sia!)

At full capacity the place surprisingly didn't feel squeezy.

Service wise the staff are friendly and patient too!

Honest Opinion:

Your Mystic Pop-Up Bar - 3/5

Okay lah, Pocha! Has an interesting concept going for them. The food's not bad but you confirm can find better Korean food.

They also have quite a wide menu, so maybe I'm just suay and ordered the dishes that didn't leave much impact. That said, you should try the Pork or Beef Zig Zag skewers.

The aesthetic is commendable given the team so Ons went to Korea to research the place, so if you still deciding about visiting for aesthetic - I would say go once for the vibes.
