Mexican food that fills the stomach? Huevos at Bugis has you covered.

Ever ordered Mexican food only to be served tiny tacos for a hefty price? We’ve been there too. At Huevos, however, you actually get what you’re paying for. Huevos is an energetic Mexican cafe just a stone throw's away from Bugis and Lavender MRT. Their staples include Tacos, Nachos and Quesadillas.
We had heard good things about it from reviews - one thing that stood out was their portions, so we checked it out.
What We Ordered:

We got our hands on the first dish around 15 minutes in. The Baja Taco($15) invited us with battered cod wrapped in soft taco shells; with tri-veg slathered in a golden mango Chipotle salsa and aioli. The cod is flaky, yet moist, with the vegetables giving a nice crunchy contrast. Meanwhile, the sauces gave it a sweet and spicy kick.
Our next dish was the Loaded Nachos($16.90).

These weren’t anything like your normal meat-cheese-chilli-over-nacho affair. They really were loaded: Tortilla chips stick out under their house cheese blend, melted into Chipotle chicken and Al Pastor Pork. Their aioli makes another appearance alongside guac, pico de gallo, Jalapenos, Cotija Cheese and pickled onions.
It’s a mouthful, but bursting with flavour. The cheese blend is savoury, and the chicken is tender and juicy, pairing well with the nachos. The pork and the chipotle are made for each other, while the guac adds a creamy texture. The Pico De Gallo makes it feel lighter while the jalapenos provide some spice.

The pastor pork is definitely a star in my books, especially after trying the Al Pastor Pork Quesadilla - $13.
Unlike the nachos, this one sees the pork cheese blend combo paired with pina salsa which gives it a refreshingly sweet and spicy touch. It’s coupled with sweet corn which gives it a nice texture as well.
Location and Service:

The white brick wall, vivid text and murals definitely present a more tropical atmosphere(though I cannot confirm nor deny if it gives the vibe of a Mexican cafe given I have never been there.)

The furnishing is minimalistic, with bar seats also being an option. The music definitely compliments the mood.
At the time I was there, there was only one person serving customers and he was friendly and knowledgeable. Despite this, the food still came in a quick 15 minutes.
Our Honest Opinion

The price is right - for the size. - 4/5
If you're looking for some tasty Mexican food, then this restaurant is definitely the place to be.
They have interesting flavour combos and portions that are appropriate to their price points. My personal recommendation would be the loaded nachos.
The vibes are definitely there too. Do note that you may need to make a reservation at their website as they are quite small.
With all this said, I am on the fence about going back.
You can visit Huevos at 803 North Bridge Road, #01-01, Singapore, 198771, from 11 am - 3 pm & 5 pm - 10 pm on Tuesdays to Sundays.
